Once again, Jon Stewart shows why he's one of the greatest interviewers of our day. He asked tough questions without succumbing to the desire to crucify this tool, then pull him off the cross and suspend him by his toes with razor wire.

What a strange world it's become. I'm always amazed at the irony of someone of Jon Stewart's substance being on a comedy channel while someone as inane as Glen Beck is on a "news channel".

I thought that exact same things while seeing the logo durring the interview...
I'm also amazed that no one's lured him away with bigger money, in more prominant location against Leno and Letterman.

What really struck me about the interview was how Feith kept saying, "well the war was good in principle, but it was just executed sloppily." YOU WERE THE UNDERSECRETARY OF DEFENSE!!! WHO THE HELL WAS EXECUTING THE WAR??? Doug Feith is such a coward on multiple levels, mostly because he refuses to take any responsibility for his actions: not his incompetent bungling of the war estimates, not his lies about his rationale, not his utterly criminal conduct in approving the use of torture by the military.

Frankly, he got off light. But kudos to Stewart for giving him more courtesy than that son of a bitch gave the American people.

Douglas Feith, like most members of the Bush administration, is a war-profiteering, soulless criminal. Nothing would make me happier than seeing filth like him brought to justice.

Ooops ! redface.gif

I hadn't seen that this had already come up. I've just posted my feith in the "Media" section, because ya gotta have feith in this world !

I enjoyed the Stewart interview, even though I tore up my mouse-pad and threw the monitor through the window. Luckily the passer-by was missed by an act of feith....
If had been Stewart, I would have leant over that glossy obsidien desk and punched his feith in for all the murder and destruction he and his obnoxious neocon sh*t's are responsable for.

Libertas, excellent. Much kudos !

How many white house neo-cons, or any other of those slime balls
have thus far actually stood up to take responsibility for ANYTHING?

The sad truth of the matter that I cannot underscore enough is that, besides to us (a rather small minority of the US population), most Americans don't care about this. That the U.S. was dead-wrong to do what it did in Iraq is not important to them. All the is important is if the U.S. wins or loses its fights (and 9-11 justifies all). None of these people will ever be brought to justice because most people (including Congressional Democrats) don't care enough about the situation to do so. I share your outrage over Feith, but what good does that do when you are surrounded by apathy (or conservative hostility) on all sides? That is a bigger issue than Feith.

Your pessimism is usually deserved, and I typically understand it, but in this instance, Feith was called out by one of the highest rated late night shows out there... If this isn't an indication that someone is doing something to wake people up, I don't know what is.
I understand your frustration with the time its taken to do so, but to equate the "daily show" with the audience here is not giving the show enough credit. We all wish the f*cktards of the world would wake up simultaneously, but the propaganda models that are effective go back before the cold war. bitching about it here does nothing. We know the prtoblems, as you readily recognize.
I really hope you can find another way to complain, hopefully soon, or you'll end up as a suicide statistic.

there are things in motion now that trump the election of the democratic majority in congress, that couldn't have come to pass without that majority...
Subpoeanas are being issued, for documents and people, that are shedding concrete light on the attrocities commited against our constitution, and our cumulative national ideals. You're impatient? well, guess what? so's everyone else. My father, a life long Republican, will never again vote red. He's not the only one - so quit your bitching, and hold your tounge, or protest where you can change minds. whining about congressional dems here doesn't change a f*cking thing. Write them with the dissatisfaction - they can do a hell of a lot more than we can... It's better if you annoy them into action than undercut the optomism the rest of us miserable bastards need to continue fighting the good fight!
