Had a red breast not so long ago too. Seems to have cleared off now though. Pity!

They're lovely tits aren't they? They bring us endless hours of pleasure as we look out into the garden and watch them eating the little treats we leave them on the bird table. We're not sure if they're great tits, lesser spotted tits, coal tits or blue tits, but they are lush looking.

There used to be three of them, but unfortunately, the old bird table wasn't quite high enough and one of the neighbourhood cats got to them. It was a real shame as they looked like they were all happy birds together. We often leave them bird feed to keep them going. What's even funnier is watching the cat try to reach the top of the bird table and fall flat on its big fat tail. Wicked fun!

I can confirm that the birds in that picture are indeed great tits. Blue tits don't have the broad black band on the breast, nore the black 'hood', coal tit are much less colourful, and lesser spotted tits, well, I'm not sure there is such a creature. (I write this post whist referring to my 'Spotter's Guide to Birds' pocketbook.

We have birds around here called titmice...
something tells me Richard Gere's got a few in his Aviary...
they get along well with his crusty brown gerbils...
