OK folks, here's the situation. Instead of donating to my campaign, I really need donations to the POAC. I'm foregoing the spring fund drive for obvious reasons, but we're broke. The only income I have is what I give myself from the POAC. Which is usually nothing or very little. But here's my problem: I had to spend a bunch of our own money to prepare to run. Ie: a suit for 500 dollars. That was our bill money for the month. We're in a really bad spot. So if any of you were planning on donating to our campaign fund, please reconsider and donate it to the POAC. That way we can make our bills, stay online, and also run for office. This isn't a campaign contribution, this is for the POAC. If any of you have some disposable income, it's be really appreciated. For those of you who don't, I completely understand.

$500?!

How many suits did that buy you? Go to Wal Mart next time and get 6 or 7 for that much.
Just a little advice .I don't think people will notice if you wear the same suit everywhere but for the love of god, just make sure you change your tie and shirt every once in awhile. Trust me, voters worry about strange things and a guy wearing the same cloths day in and day out might rank up there with being arrested in Kansas City one crazy night.....oh wait.

And for God's sake, (literally?), don't forget your flag lapel pin.

Actually, it wasn't just a suit. it was a suit, 2 shirts, 3 ties, and socks. Also, i have to come up with money before I can raise money. I have to start a bank account, get a post office box, etc etc. and I don't have that cash. We're past due on some bills already and and I can't even afford to start raising cash. Additionally, I've foregone the quarterly fund drive to try to channel that support into the campaign, but I can't even ask for money until I can afford to start the new bank account, PO box, etc.
As far as buying a suit at walmart goes, I'm a local candidate for state office. I need to be seen buying from local merchants on main street. Especially since I directly call out Wal~mart's business practices in my campaign literature. Oh yeah, and as far as campaign lit' goes, I can print my own for almost free but... people look for the union label on all of my campaign material. So if I want union endorsements and union members' votes, I need to have all of my printing done at a local union printer.
Fun Fun Fun.

Wouldn't it be easier to just provide an itemized list and receipts?
That, or maybe we should try to remember that you DO know what you're doing?

I can't accept campaign contributions until I file some forms. I can't file the forms until I have a bank account to list on the form. I can't start a bank account until I have some cash. I don't have any cash. All the receipts in the world won't do me any good until I have a campaign account. I can't have a campaign account until I file some forms. I can't file the forms until I have a bank account to list on the form. I can't start a bank account until I have some cash. I don't have any cash. A word of advice if i may: Remember to breath.... I always find it helps... Breathing I mean... helps the blood and organs stay oxygenated and such. Really! It's true!
On a more serious note... sh*t! Bummer!
Hey, maybe someone will send you a cash (belated) birthday present!!!

and just to clarify: the campaign fund will reimburse me for the webhosting of the campaign site, but not the suit and clothes and stuff. That's out of my pocket.
