"My fellow citizens, at this hour, American and coalition forces are in the early stages of military operations to disarm Iraq, to free its people and to defend the world from grave danger... My fellow citizens, the dangers to our country and the world will be overcome. We will pass through this time of peril and carry on the work of peace. We will defend our freedom. We will bring freedom to others and we will prevail." - George W. Bush - March 19, 2003

Kinda odd to consider the connections, but this is why there are some who claim global climate change isn't an issue.
Petrodollars rule the world in the very same ways the Steel industry once did, and the same way the Rail industry once did. Now we have a secret alliance between the Oil industry and the Military Industrial complex, which has received the blessings of the top 1/2 %, which are also fully ensconced into American politics. (Fascism)

Can this situation be defeated. It's truly a toss up. Yes, it's possible, though the fight will never be through direct confrontation, (because we'd lose) it will take decades of diligent efforts and an understanding that some battles we will lose. That's the way war goes, and this is social warfare. The battle between the society and the social elite that has been going on for centuries!

Christianity it's self that today is a religion, was originally a social collective that came about as a result of this ongoing social warfare.

Also please keep in mind that when we work to move from point A to point B,
that though the destination is the cause for the journey, that it's the journey it's self that matters!

I think he's saying, that no matter what the 'reasons' where for invading Iraq, we ballsed it up.
I may be way off though... I mean, this is Sky of Mind we're dealing with here! laugh.gif

close,

the reasons we invaded were for oil and the control of oil.
The very same reasons some people still choose to deny global climate change.

Think about it. They can't deny the facts, but they do! Why?
There can be no logical reason, so it must be about the oil, the control of oil, and huge profits for a few.

The connection is as basic as breathing and doesn't require any great reach of logic.

Given that every one here (I think that's a fairly safe assumption) already knows it's about the Oil, what's your point? tongue.gif

Is there oil in Iraq ? Where ??

Why weren't we told.........

It is just so frustrating. If people had just taken a step back to look at the big picture, Iraq wouldn't have even registered o the threat radar. Yeah, Saddam had the knowledge and ability to make chemical weapons, but so does anyone who has bleach and bathroom cleanser (makes chlorine gas).

careful there, boot... What would BY say to blatant instructions to build wmd's? wink.gif
Natch
petro DOLLARS? no, I think the problem is petro EUROS. If Saddam had had the opportunity, he would have changed from selling his oil for DOLLARS to selling it for EUROS, just as Iran wants to do now. THAT dear freinds, is the problem. Of course there is also the millions dead and maimed, but "we don't count them".

Jeebus Christ, Rus, you think Cheney would get that wrong? He's a little fuzzy on terrorists and doomsday weapons, but he never makes a mistake on oil reserves.

Of course we don't count them, Natch - they're not people, they're 'collateral damage'! thumbup.gif
