Hi everyone. I'm a rookie at all of this. Started on Thom's board, almost accidentally, about a week ago. So, I hope I won't offend anyone's sensibilities. I'm a raving Liberal, so I imagine I'll be safe and warm here.
I'm 41, a former 5th grade teacher, former Peace Corps, former city-boy. I live with my wife in a beach house in Emerald Isle, NC. We help run a local non-profit, called Island Cat Allies, which neuters and cares for a huge feral population on the island. We also volunteer for the Sea Turtle Program.
My father was a French immigrant from Normandy after the war, in 1947. My sister lives in Paris with her husband and kids. And I have a zillion cousins over there. Although I'm technically an American, I've been pretty chapped by the "Freedom Fry" xenophobia that exists in this, our wonderful country. (Imbeciles!)....(not you, sorry).
Anyhow, as I posted on Thom's yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised to learn of this secret underground of civil discourse. Living (literally) on an island just off a very red coast, all I hear is the O'Reilly/Limp-Paw/Hannity screaming circus. After so many years of being jacked up against the wall by current the American social culture, I have to retrain myself not to speak adversarily. I'll try.....

Not sure, but it seems Monsieur Fabuleux Frog seems to have gotten a tiny bit pissy and left the forum.
On the way out he seems to have deleted a number of his posts around the forum.
I've never seen a newby do this before. I've never seen a troll do this before. I've never seen anybody do this before.
Frankly, the reason for doing it perplexes me!
Why get all pissy after 1/2 a day over something someone said that he didn't like?
Why then assume we must all be like that person, a person that did nothing wrong to begin with.
And then why bother to delete SOME of his postings?
Yet, he didn't seem to realize that deleting a post of his that had already been quoted, was kinda pointless, even silly!

Well, he came off wrong. Seemed to be a fake, then said he wasn't and just came off wrong. Could be true, but instead of redeeming himself, he seems to have deleted his post and split. His choice, free country, no hard feelings, always welcome back, such as life, be kind, rewind, reduce, reuse, recycle, can't make a cake without breaking a few eggs, bird in the hand, two in the bush, beef, it's what's for dinner, 23 skiddoo.
