Hi all,

I guess this is my introduction. I came here from Thom's, hearing about this place through all the hubbub Loganthor created.

I noticed that the moderation of this site is much more strict than what I'm used to at Thom's, very good. I'm sure I'll enjoy a safe environment for a change.

(I have read the guidelines, and promise to follow them.)

I have been banned from Thom's on more than one occasion, as I'm sure certain people will be eager to point out. This was mostly done because I had severe criticism of the way the moderation there handles Rutherford/Loganthor and their entourage of happy elfs. I have no intention of creating a rumble here, but I guess time will tell whether or not I am to be trusted.

I am responsible for these two threads, as referred to elsewhere on this forum:

http://www.nostomania.proboards66.com/inde...read=1193740516

and

http://www.thomhartmann.com/index.php?opti...61&catid=15

As you can see, I'm a sworn enemy of the two main trolls at Hartmann's, but I have no intention of starting a war over here.

Thank you,

Miles

PS> I see many familiar faces, from Hartmann's. Hi guys!

Hello and welcome.

these guys don't last too long around here... you won't have to rumble, so unless you have some other irritating tendancy that flies in the face of general compassion and rational thought, everything will be fine.

Welcome to the POAC forum Miles.

Soon enough you will understand that this forum gives considerable lattitude towards the interplay of personalities.
Meaning, except under certain circumstances, you aren't likely to be banned. And even if that were to happen, without question you would be given plenty of fair warning. No, you won't receive a PM spelling out your offences and offering x number of chances to clean up your act. Such actions are troll food. However, warnings are none the less abundant.

First and most important forum rule, never ever be publicly critical of the forums operation or management. If you have an issue, PM POAC directly about it. This is about 50% of "the rules" and the #1 actual reason for bannination.

Even your good buddies unsure.gif LangenTHOR and his pack of keyboard kommando's had plenty of notice before they were shown the curb. Round here we keep our tubes clean and uncluttered.

Hi, Miles. smile.gif

Miles is from the old guard at Thom's. Miles was on troll patrol much of the time after Thom went national, and the new board administrator and he didn't agree on what exactly trolls were. I don't see that will be a problem here! This is much like Thom's was four years ago when it actually felt like a community, and not one of those guru cults, either.

I was going to say something else, but it slipped my mind!

Sky, I respect that. The only reason I started to go public at Thom's is that apparently that's the only way to get Sueless the Clueless to pay any attention at all. ph34r.gif

Not a problem.
What happens at Thom's, stays at Thom's. wink.gif

It will, if it's up to me.

By the way, what's the forum's policy towards the use of the word 'fuck '?

Just checking...

It's fine, (and as a forum user, not an admin,) as long as you TRY to avoid it in titles... sometimes, you just need to use explatives for certain things.
sky of mind
We don't like the word fuck, and would fucking prefer that you not use that fucking awful word.
You know it's fucking sad when fuck is the only fucking way one has to fucking communicate.

Other than that, I don't believe Management has ever had issues with the way anything has been expressed.
It's the intention behind the word(s).
Miles
Shit, that's great!

Well, if you're senile and Mile is serene, what's my job? - In fact, we all want jobs! tongue.gif
Have fun! biggrin.gif

Hah, I'm still trying to work out if serenity and Buddhism are inherently interconnected...

It's all yours. I'll take care of the hermitage, if no one else has it. smile.gif

(The truth about my post has to do with bad habits. On two other boards where I post regularly, the 'edit' function is where your 'reply' function is. I've done this more than once, here, so I'm trying to invent some new excuses for my slow learning process. I'll happily leave senility out of that bag.)

I've been know to hit 'reply' by mistake once or twice. Use the 'back' function, and you'll avoid the unnecessary posts. thumbup.gif

Thanks Karen, but does that work once it's posted? That's the only time I discover I've even done it. I see my two posts together, and I go to myself, ooops. It usually happens because I am hasty and see an immediate mistake that I want to correct.

Nope, wish it did, because it's not til I hit the post button that I then realize I forgot to spell check.

Ok, returning to this, I guess my answer these days would be that 'serenity' doesn't quite cover it. Or maybe it does, dunno. I would vote for 'peaceful', though. Or 'clear-minded' or something.

Crap.

Oh well, at least, last week I passed a koan.
