Today is Valentine's Day and the store had 6 pre-cooked frozen dungeness crabs for 6 bucks. So there's part of Valentine's day dinner. Now what the hell should I do with them? So far, I'm just thawing them, then gonna rip out the meet and serve it cold with cocktail sauce unless anyone has a better suggestion. Side dishes will be steamed asparagus and fried bologna.

Just kidding about the bologna.

Cold, with garlic butter.

Cold, with garlic butter.

Or a holandaise (sp???) sauce, which also goes well with asparagus

Sounds foul! laugh.gif

Edit: You could always serve it with pasta too - Just toss the cold crab toghter with the warm pasta and Happy's garlic butter.
Sounds yummy to me! smile.gif

Both ideas, hollandaise and pasta with garlic butter, sound good. Might do hollandaise on the asparagus and garlic butter with the pasta.

I'm with you on this one...
no self respecting san franciscan would eat them sushi style...

They were already cooked. Cooking them again would supposedly risk making them stringy. We dug the meat out and put it in with hot pasta with garlic butter. It was really good, but the best time was just hanging out in the kitchen picking out crab meat. smile.gif
Boot
Couldn't help myself.

NO...NO...NO...
You're thinking of dungeon crabs.
They don't breed in the same waters as dungenness crabs.
