After finding a place to park the truck, I quite easily found the line for the Democratic Caucuses.
See the couple on the far left (background) in red and black? That's the line for the Republican Caucus.
Inside it's wall to wall. More than 3/4 are first timers.
There were 14 of us representing my district. Since I'm rural, my district covers a lot of area with few people. Of the 14, only one had been to a Caucus before and we elected him our leader. My district has population for 5 delegates. In the first vote it was Obama 9, Clinton 4 and Biden 1. Second vote the Biden guy went for Clinton. Obama got 3 of our delegates while Clinton got 2.
Additionally, I was one of the three delegates elected to represent my district for Obama.
So, I'll be going to the next step, the Legislative District Caucus on April 5th.
2 things I hear a lot of people say.
First, that this was the first time they had ever done this and wondered why they never did before?
And second I heard a lot of people say they had always been Republicans, but after Bush 1 and then Bush 2, well, nuf said eh?
