Obviously there are a plethora of political ads out there and the inundation is only going to worsen as we get closer to November. I've been talking with some friends about these ads - what they've seen that they like and what they've seen that they don't. Pretty much everyone has been in agreement that political ads do work - people do respond to them. So I was curious about what you all thought about this topic and maybe you can share some ads and say why you think they are effective or not.

I'll begin on a positive note. Here is an ad that I think really works for Senator Obama. He is very good at reaching out to the young voters out there and this ad really does this very well. It's simple, yet strong in it's message. See what you think.

I think it's a very good ad for those it targets...the young and the color-blind. Maybe not so much for a broader audience. While they might not admit it to themselves, I think that Barack has some white supporters who don't really want to see him as an African American. This ad flirts with attenuating their unconscious perception that somehow, for the most part, he really is a white guy. Some will see it simply as an ad with different people. Some will see it as an ad with a fairly large representation of black culture and think that's a very good thing. Some will find that fact unsettling on some level.
