Full Version: That Explains A Lot

I have a friend who no one knows where he has been for the past month. He hasn't called, we haven't seen him around at all. No one had a fucking clue what happened to him. He just totally vanished. I got a phone call tonight from him. Turns out he has been in jail for the past month for drug possession, weed i do believe (he has been caught with it many times before) but he didn't have the $500 for bail, so they kept him in county lock up. He finally got released from jail tonight and put under house arrest until his trial. It does explain a lot. And since i expected he was either in jail or dead (honestly) it isn't much of a shock. What i find funny is his ultra religious mom threw away all of his music because she thought that it made him do drugs. Good times.

And if you are wondering, he only does pot but he is really into it.

Well it's good that this menace to society was locked up and his finances/life majorly disrupted. We can't have people like that enjoying themselves, now can we?

Seriously, that's really sad. I'm so sorry to hear it. Even worse, his nutcase mom is probably the real reason he's a substance abuser, not his good taste in music. I'd like to invent some strain of weed that makes a person smarter, that way, if they get too far into it, they will get better at not getting caught, instead of worse.

I agree, it is such bullshit. The guy is caught with weed, so he spends a month in jail and a few weeks under house arrest? This is even before his trial. Hopefully they will give him time served and he will finally be free. He lost his job because of this and he is getting kicked out of his house because he had a bag of weed. Oh no, that kid is using something that will make his body slightly numb and put him in a good mood, throw him in prison! I'm glad the justice system has its priorities straight.

The funny thing about his music is that it is very deep, philosophical music and his mom sees it as evil. Plus she is a Jesus freak but refuses to forgive him. I think his situation is representative of everything that is wrong with this country.

Understanding the nature of addiction is something society tends to overlook.

if his bail was only $500, and he spent a month in jail, i'm sure he'll get time served, but probation, drug education, and random testing is probably in his future...

by the way, it may end up being a good thing... this has probably taught him that he should save some of his wages instead of spending it all on weed... If he had, he would have had his bail money.

That is actually a problem. He never has any money to go out and do anything, since he spends what he has on pot. However, since he needs to get his own place now, he will probably have to learn to cut back or live on the street. Plus he will probably go a minimum of two months without smoking, so he may get over any addiction.

Hopefully it's taught him that the law is a manipulated tool perverted by rich old white men who have no clue, that Jesus-freaks are dangerous zombies manipulated by forces they cannot understand, and that attempting to open your mind often lands you in trouble because free-thinkers break the status-quo of numb consumer drones happy clapping, happy shopping and happy voting.
Hopefully now he will be far wiser about just how fucked up things are, and will become aware. wink.gif
We welcome him into our revolutionary ranks.

I remember the first time a naive young man toked on a doobie. Wow.
They lied to him. His parents, his teachers, his priests, his politicians (no, really, the politicians really lied... eek.gif )
The doctors and medical people got all mumbly and confused, and it started that young man on a quest to find the Truth. He learnt all about drugs, alcohol, taxation, monopolies, prohibition, and so much other stuff on his voyage that he eventually sat down, rolled a number, put on a bit of "Umagumma" by the Floyd and reflected on life.
This young man will never touch hard drugs, because he's not able to be fooled, and he'll never trust the government or priests again, unless they can give him a straight, honest answer looking in his eyes. As this is as likely as pink elephants flying, you can see the dangers that happen to the nice, ordered consumerbot society that our young man was being groomed for if "Evil terrorists" like Jack's pot-smoking pal are allowed to float around in a happy haze, not to mention the profit loss from late-night food joints......POP TARTS !!!!!!! wink.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

Free your ass and your mind will follow....40 years on, it still holds true, although a certain degree of discretion is required in the Brave New World the neocons and fundies are slamming down around us, because freeing your ass in prison is NOT recommended !!!
