Obama says he’d possibly appoint Arnold to his cabinet
By: John Amato on Thursday, December 20th, 2007 at 3:09 PM - PST

Here we go—the good old bipartisan garbage. I can’t stand primary season. Arnold got shamed by the Nurses and was forced to change his style of “governating” so why did Barack pick him?

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger: “What (he’s) doing on climate change in California is very important and significant. There are things I don’t agree with him on, but he’s taken leadership on a very difficult issue and we haven’t seen that kind of leadership in Washington,” Obama said of the California governor

Paul Rosenburg writes:

Here’s an article I wrote back in July, about how Schwarzenegger fired the head of the California Air Resources Board for being too enthusiastic about fighting global warming–and then lied about it, claiming that the fired official had resigned. I also refer to an executive order that, like a Bush signing statements, effectively undermined the law it was supposed to reinforce–the global warming law that Schwarzenegger is routinely hailed for.

And C&L’s good pal Julia Rosen has a fairly comprehensive look at the Terminater’s governing style.

Let me state up front that since moving to California two years ago, I have written thousands of blog posts on Arnold Schwarzenegger. This governor loves to say one thing and do another. His public statements rarely match up with his actions. I talk about Arnold’s governing philosophy in terms of software versions, since it switches all too often…read on

Not only does he vote for the Patriot Act, threaten Iran and Pakistan, fund the War, and offer up unimagineably ridiculous healthcare programs, but now he's pandering for Neocon votes. rolleyes.gif

Because Obama is at least open to the idea's of others.

And he wasn't a senator when the Patriot act was created.

Yes, but brother Paul will save us from all that

Did you read the article and click on the links. Arnold is a Bushbot.

And he did vote for the re-authorization of the Patriot Act when the sunset clause would have killed it. His voting record is as bad as Clinton's.

The Paullowers have no discernible sense of humor.

I thought supporting Dr Ron Who WAS an outward sign of hillarity and a gregarious nature....

Does it seems as though the Paulists are willing to "swiftboat" in an attempt to improve Dr Who's poll numbers up to the least just under the lower double digits?

Seems to me as though HighStreet posted an article worthy of discussion in its own right, but instead of discussing the article we've* gone for the (oh so tired) get the Paulite jibes instead.
Don't know about anyone else but I'm starting to find it really tedious!

If the Paulists would be willing to discuss issues that don't have a Paul slant to them,
if the Paulists would accept that not everybody thinks Ron is the second coming,
etc etc.

Karen. I have the ability to NOT reply to everything that gets posted,
and have been admonished by several members of this forum for rising to the bait every time it's been cast.
Is there anything that says these Paulists should be held to a different standard?

Speaking for myself, If they have a problem with what I have to say, that can always choose to ignore me.

Karen. It doesn't matter to me that they are Paulists. When ever I see crap, I'm gonna call it crap!
That's what I do, and I hope you do too!

Although I like some of what Ron Paul has to say and his supporters are an interesting group, they seem to have an unwavering hate for anyone who isn't Ron Paul. An unfortunate blind spot that is going to make them look more like a cult than a political movement.

Let me go on record as saying I want to like Obama - but then I read stuff like this. I don't intend to hold hands and sing Kumbayah with the bastards who brought us the last 8 years.

Thing is, Sky, every single time Ron Pauls name is mentioned these days this whole idiotic BS starts.
And now it's got to the point that as son as a Paulist starts a thread, no matter what the topic, this whole idiotic BS starts.

This is a case in point.
Why are we not discussing Obama and The Governator? Answer, because HighStreet started the thread and no other reason! Fucking ridiculous, if you don't mind my saying.

And no Sky, I don 't have a problem calling crap when I see it... though do try my best to be reasonable and to see the other persons point of view, and I do try not to throw out the baby with the bathwater.
I also realise when I'm getting nowhere with a line of argument and know when to agree to differ.

I also recognise that, as fanatical as the Paulites can be, they're actually reacting against exactly the same neo-conservatism as most of us here are. That they, IMO, are slightly misguided and somewhat fanatical does not give me the right to attack everything they post. I'd much prefer to provide the facts and, when it became clear that they weren't being rationally considered, even after several efforts, I'd walk away knowing I'd done my best.

So you ARE still whining!

sheesh!

In todays hyper-partisan political atmosphere, there is certainly a need for whoever becomes the next president to reach across the aisle to help the other party feel less dis-enfranchised. I applaud Obama for considering such a move. I would like to recommend a new cabinet level position for Mr. Schwartzenegger : Secretary of Pumping Iron.

Short of that, I think it would at least be important to make sure that someday the former Governor find a position in public life where he can use his unique life experiences to make a difference for America. Perhaps Obama could recommend him for a position working for Major League Baseball in charge of Quality Control of Injectable Substances.

ok... this is the fault of the author of the post on C&L, and no one here, but what the hell is this supposed to mean:
QUOTE

There are things I don’t agree with him on, but he’s taken leadership on a very difficult issue and we haven’t seen that kind of leadership in Washington,” Obama said of the California governor

whose quote is this?
