Big freakin' surprise there. I was just messing around, boss. Democracy has many, many problems, but any other system tried on a national scale only puts power in the hands of a small, interested group. That's not good.

OK. Cuz I was thinking you were taken over by body snatchers or something.

"Before the caucus I read that they didn't, but from what I've read and heard afterwards, they apparently did have to be there for a few hours."

That's because they couldn't find the door, TJ.

Worse, Jubal may have been exposed to Ron Paul infrawaves, beamed out of his screen by chanting Paulites projecting hypnotic energy behind seemingly coherant messages of small government and brotherly love for most people.....

It would be worse if it was a Hucklefuhrer prayer circle sending big juju, but they haven't worked out this newfangled internet thang yet........... blink.gif

I really do have big problems with democracy. I freely admit it's the best system so far, but that's no reason to quit looking for something better.

Truth be told, Rousseau, I got the feeling you were a whole lot less enthusiastic about democracy when it was producing officials you don't like.
Rousseau
I'm entirely open for alternatives as well.

I've always been enthusiastic about democracy, but I've never been deluded that what has manifested itself in America over the last 8 years has had anything to do with democracy.

Real democracy would never eat its entrails, kill it's young, and crash burning and smirking into the heart of the Sun.

Of course it would. Democracy is no smarter than any other system.

Correction,
Democracy is no smarter than the people it serves.
Now you can be concerned.

Minor note, the U.S. was actually established as a Democratic Republic, not a true Democracy.

Update: Turns out the Hillary supporter that was shouting about Edwards' 400 haircut was kicked out by the precinct captain. And you remember the inflated "scandal" about the Hillary campaign not leaving a tip at some diner in Podunk, Iowa? Well, it turns out that the Hillary camp didn't pay for their headquarters here in town and also trashed the place. I'm sure the check is in the mail, though. blink.gif

She's leaving a trail. I know of at least one rental space they didn't pay for here in NH.

Is that typical of campaigns? Anyone know?
