I was thinking about this today. I haven't had a debate with anyone in probably two years on whether bush is a good president. It used to be nearly a daily thing but i don't hear much out of the bush supporters or former bush supporters anymore. How about you folks? How often do you get into debates about bush with other people?

I can't find anyone who still thinks Bush is a good president or even a legal president.
On the contrary, I know people who I know full well voted for the man(?) twice, and who now deny it.
I know one guy that still comes off like a Rush Limbaugh wannabe, that says he never liked Bush. (even though he still has his Bush/Cheney bumper sticker on his truck)

Others simply don't want to talk about Bush. It's hard to admit just how used you have been and how wrong you were.
ESPECIALLY talking to someone who was correct all along, and tried to say so! 7 years ago I did tell them, "you'll see!"

Those were scary times all those years ago. It is frighting to see a majority of the population completely brainwashed, while nothing you say will snap them out of it. It is good to know that we never supported any of his corrupt or criminal activity. We are free of sin.

Well, I don't know about sin. But I never did like or support Bush.
At first I just thought he was an idiot. A village was missing their idiot, etc.
Over time that morphed into thinking he was a stupid criminal.
Now I just see him as criminal. I guess he matured eh?

Sadly, he still has fanatical defenders in my neck of the woods. And even if they don't support him, lots of people here still drag out the lame argument that "At least he's better than what Gore/Kerry would have been."

I hear the Gore argument too, even though they can't and or won't defend the statement.
That's just another rationalization tool used to not have to take personal responsibility for being wrong, wrong wrong wrong!

most of the time i get caught up with the people who are talkng about the current bunch of riech wingers runing for office. i start listing off the reasons why they suck, and the response is "well their still better than hillary." The thing that sucks is, even though I disagree, I can't really find a way to support her, so the conversation dies, and they continue their idiocy.
Libertas
The most I can usually drag out a conservative these days is, "well, Bush isn't the worst President America has ever had," and then I get to start my course of arguments there. Of course, it's hopeless with one guy I know who insists FDR is the worst President in history... lol.

But yeah, I do not know a single person out there who says Bush is a good President. Almost all of my parents' Republican friends are embarrassed to say they ever thought Bush was a good President.
