"Merry Christmas" I use to remind myself that being informed and a more-or-less rational thinker is a wonderful thing. Even though I think I really don't mind people celebrating their invisible friend, as long as they actually remember the original message, and not the one spun by the popeagandists...

I was sitting here this morning thinking of Christmas as a kid, then thinking about the millions of living rooms that right at that moment were strewn with papers and boxes and the joyful noises of children playing.
I have two favorite Christmas memories. One when I was about 12, and the other when my son was 4.
Neither have anything to do with the stuff, and everything to do with pure, unadulterated love.
I hope the millions of Americans out there who have stacked their credit to the limit, I hope they found some true pleasure and happiness with it.

What is really sad is that there are people out there who actually talk about the "war on christmas". It isn't just yahoos on fox "news" talking about. There are actual republicans who fly into a violent rage over the "liberals attempts to destroy chirstmas". Someone talking about the "war on christmas" is a true sign that they are unemployed.

I had an idiot at work on Friday fly into a rage because he overheard me telling another co-worker that I had to run to the vet on my lunch hour to pick up medicine because they would be closed this week for the "holiday".
He came into my cube and started yelling at me "say Christmas, it's not just a Holiday, it's Christmas. I hate the fucking liberals that get all offended when you wish them a Merry Christmas. If you don't like it, tough shit. You don't see me getting all bent out of shape at stupid shit like that".
"Yes I do" I replied "You're getting all bent out of shape right now because I said Holiday to someone else. Some pretty stupid shit if you ask me".
His face lit up red like Rudolf's nose, steam poured from his ears, and he stomped off.
