The United States has not only a right, but an obligation to restrict who can enter the country. I do not understand the sentiment of some liberals here to oppose this. I do not see this as being a progressive issue.

quote me where the constitution says that we have an obligation to keep anyone out... As far as I know the only prohibition against the foreign born is the presidency.

It wouldn't occur to me that I could simply move to any other country without their permission. Don't see why it should be different with people wanting to move here.

If open borders are such a wise policy, why doesn't any other country have them?

Gentlemen...the operative word was satire. Additional Dobbs does not say much about is obession with outer space. Hey may be fire and brimestone but he too has made poor choices in his career. Relax and have a laugh at what media has become.

It is not stated in the constitution, but IMO the government has an obligation to its citizens to restrict who can enter the US. It seems to be common sense on so many fronts. It seems to me that the only reason that liberals have taken this as an issue is in response to all the conservatives who have taken it as an issue, and if thats the only reason its not a good one. If conservatives are against something it does not mean we have to support that something in reaction. My position is not how we deal with the illegal immigrants already in this country. My position is that we reduce the flow of illegal immigrants into this country to as close as zero as possible. We may never be able to completely eliminate it, but that does not mean we should not do everything in our power to stop it. Just because we have made a million mistakes in the past in this area does not mean we have to keep making them.

I know it was satire, but personally I support Dobbs and most of his positions, including the illegal immigration one. Dobbs displays some good, old fashioned righteous indignation at the BS in Washington D.C. that everyone else seems to accept as normal. Frankly, I find that indignation very appropriate and refreshing. Rather than pointing the cannon at Dobbs, lets point the cannon at those fucked-up politicians in Congress who have made this mess in the first place. And yes, that includes many many Democrats.

Are you basing the rightness or wrongness of this position on what the political whore Democrats do? You talk about the Dems as if they are some kind of opposition party. They aren't. Don't give them the respect they don't deserve.

Dobbs has done a great job of creating fear and prejudice. Thanks to Dobbs, many LEGAL brown skinned immigrants I know are harassed on a regular basis.

Corporate America has been the beneficiary of cheap immigrant labor. Dobbs very dishonestly blames the economic refugees who have come here because trade agreements like NAFTA took away their living. He ignores the fact that US businesses love undocumented workers because they can pay them less and exploit them. We're reaping the rewards of our failed trade policies, our failed economic policy, the decades of propping up tinpot dictators and despots in Mexico, and the selling of our country to corporations.
