Fred Thompson: Fox 'skews things' against me

After a Fox News anchor used two of the network's own pundits to "show how" the Thompson campaign was experiencing negative buzz, Fred Thompson hit back hard, suggesting that Fox "skews things" by presenting only the opinions of their own analysts.

"During an interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, former Sen. Fred Thompson, R- Tenn., grew testy when shown clips of conservatives Fred Barnes and Charles Krauthammer saying that the former Law and Order actor could not win," Teddy Davis reports for ABC News. "Thompson said such doom and gloom had been a 'constant mantra' of Fox News since he got into the race."

Thompson told Wallace, "For you to highlight nothing but the negative in terms of these polls and then to put on your own guys who have been predicting for four months, really, that I couldn't do it kind of skews things a little bit. There is a lot of other opinion out there."

The conservative candidate, who has been lagging behind in most polls, noted that "you have the right to put in your one side - to put in the Fox side - and I have right to respond to it and thankfully you've given me the opportunity to do that."

Huffington Post's account adds: "Wallace defended his network's coverage, 'I don't know if Fox has been going after you.' Thompson insisted -- 'From day one, they said I got in too late --' but Wallace interrupted. 'Well, there are a lot of people besides Fox who said that.'"
