Hillary does not represent the values of most of us who call ourselves Democrats.
The message here on this video, these are our values.

AFW rails incessantly against the Democrats. I'm a Democrat, and I want to take my party back from the corporatist's before it's too late and the Democratic party, the party of Progressive Liberalism characterized by Kennedy and Roosevelt goes the way of the Republican Conservative party.

Those people in the Democratic party, those who have most let us down do not represent our interests, or our values. When you rail against these people you are correct to do so. But when you rail against the Democratic party you make a big mistake, and you demonstrate a lack of understanding of the real issue at hand. It is good to rail against these people because they are not true Democrats, and do not represent the interests of Americans that call them selves Democrats.

It's pretty much a forgone conclusion that the Repugs have pretty much toasted their chances in 08. The issue and the election then is in the primaries. The question is which member of the Democratic party will best represent the people of America? Which Democrat can reach into the conservative territory and find support? Which candidate will be as much as possible, a uniter?

Thanks seuss!

Thom Hartmann said something similar to what Sky just said and what most of us are thinking:

Someone said to Thom "Oh, you are a democrat supporter". His response? "Actually, no I'm not. I'm far more radical. I want to take the party back from the inside out."

If I saw that he had a grassroots effort, or increasing fundraising, or increasing poll numbers.....

But there is no momentum, no enthusiasm...

RP has all those things (30 sec.):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZngnWAQfM0

If you take take DK's policies to their end conclusion, they are in conflict. He wants the Fed Govt to be restrained and protect our Civil Liberties; while at the same time pushing for MORE Fed Govt control over our lives, ie. SS, Medicaid, Medicare, Universal Healthcare.

When you give the Fed Govt more money and power they are prone to abuse it.

Other than agreeing with RP on most of the issues, I understand the consistency of his philosophy. And, no, he wouldn't be perfect, but he would move our country in the right direction.

Here's a good interview to explain the philosophy of Personal Liberty AND Responsibility (65 min):

Proselytizing the church of Paul in the land of Liberals.
I hope you don't really expect much success.
There are a few conservatives on this forum, but they're much to smart to drink that kool-aid.

Funny, I thought you wanted to stop the Patriot Act, Military Commissions Act, HR 1955, and the Iraq War.

The only ones drinking koolaid are the Elite in Both Parties.

You comments always make me laugh. I have been called a liberal, left wing, hippie for years. I could never swallow the koolaid the elites were passing out, though. It was obvious they didn't stand for much in their own lives. They would change positions on issues with the political winds. I have never voted for a Dem or Repub in any Presidential Election.

I always complained about Reagan's corruption, Iran/Contra, and Deficit Spending despite being a self proclaimed "small govt" guy. Thought it was the worst move ever to take the Solar Panels off the White House. And always thought he should have been impeached over Iran/Contra.

I laughed at Bush's foibles with "no new taxes".

Clinton did some good things, but always thought it was Perot's push for a balanced budget that got both parties to actually do it by the end of his Presidency (despite knowing that they could only show it on paper because of the theft of our SS money). Always thought the Waco and Elian Gonzales incidents were terrible acts by an overpowerful Central Govt. The Oklahoma Bombing was always just as sketchy as 9/11, IMHO. And Clinton did the same as Bush and took the first steps toward the Patriot Act with his Terrorism and Espionage Act in 1996.

And then Bush II came. I began visiting POAC around the time the war started as I began accumulating ammunition for my discussions with my parents (staunch Party first Repubs since as long as I can remember). Bush's crimes on the war, our rights, and Deficit Spending have dwarfed all previous Presidents. Not to mention both Dem and Repub congresses that have been part and parcel of the deterioration of our Country for 30 years.

We have been moving in the direction of Bigger Govt (Domestic and Military) for years now, with Both Parties at the helm. I have seen the degredation of our Economy, the destruction of our Interventionist Foreign Policies, and the steady Infringement of our Rights at home.

I have been looking for an Honest politician for years now. I have found one that consistently VOTES to protect our rights, reign in our Interventionist Foreign policy, and Balance our out of control budget. If you have another option that is as moderate and common sense as he, I would be willing to research him or her.
