this is for all you bush-haters (legimitate haters). . .i think I finally get why our elected representatives and press DON'T raise the issues we care about. Every single one of them is afraid of George Bush and his team. Barbara Walters. Diane Sawyer. John Kerry. John Edwards. John McCain. Everyone and anyone that has the power to call the president out on his policies or directly question him is scared shitless of him. If anything, I bet the CIA Plume/leak scared all of them even more. If the Bush White House is down to compromise a CIA agent, a protector of the U.S., for political revenge, even if that person got killed in the process, just imagine the shit they would pull on a congressmen, a senator, or reporter. I sense that some in the House of Representatives feel a duty to say something. Henry Waxman, Conyers, and even some moderate Republicans are good examples. But our senators, Dem. and Repub., are fucking jokes, every single one (MAYBE Tom Harkin is all right). I mean, I'm positive that there were some Republicans that became damn wary of watchdogs following Nixon's downfall, and all the Senators are very, very cautious as a result. Remember Edwards promise to have all the votes counted? DID he even make sure all 150,000 provisional votes were counted in Ohio? Nope he didn't, and he didn't raise hell about it coz he's a chickenshit just like the rest. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Social Security and Overtime
I feel these are the KEY issues democrats stayed quiet about for the whole 2004 campaign, and their silence really, really hurt them bigtime. Two of the most important progressive policies that came from FDR were under attack, and they didn't dare say shit about it. Not when it's a fact the market goes up and down, not when the Labor Secretary was at hearings, trying to bs and say OT was safe, ppl didn't understand the new provisions, but when asked the simple question "Well I just want to make sure some $22K manager at a retail store wouldn't lose his overtime, would that happen under these rules", she replied "well, it depends, I can't say", her universal fucking answer for every question. I agree with a guy on this board who quoted Clinton describing himself as a Eisenhower Republican. I think the term liberal funny because FDR was probably the last president who may have deserved that title. Democrats don't get pissed or angry when their liberal/progressive policies are chopped and hacked away by Republicans. They don't blink when Republicans talk shit, and they don't even TRY to argue why SS needs to be preserved the way it is. They don't point out that all social and domestic spending for the public sector is being COMPLETELY sucked away by our foreign policy, and those fucking tax cuts. Even that bitch Hillary Clinton just stands there and smiles about it, too worried about maintaining bi-partisanship (in this day, that means agree with Bush) because of her possible run in 2008. Why do we supporters, the public, have to be left alone in this fight for equality and a well-funded, clean society? It's such bullshit.

There were liberals after FDR.
Wellstone; but he had an "accident".
Hillary Rodham? Don't forget she used to be on Wal-Mart's Board of Directors.
And bi-partisanship? When the radical regressives (they ain't conservatives) rally round the cry "bi-partisanship is date-rape", there is no bi-partisanship.
There is no bi-partisanship anymore; this is a street fight. A no holds barred street fight.

Let's hope that Dean shows The DLC the door. The best thing the DLC could do for the Democratic Party is admit that they're really just Corporate Friendly Republicans and switch parties before they do any more damage.
The Pink Tu Tus... Those clowns don't want to offend the Republicans. "Center" is now defined at about where Goldwater was in 1964. "Moderates" are now radicals.

I say set them up, then let them kick their own ass's.
No one has done Bush more harm than Bush himself!
About being afraid of Bush.
This is and fully should be a high degree of fear involved in calling the Preident to task! This is the leader of the strongest nation in the world. We don't want our president treated as the Repugs treated Clinton doring teh Starr witch hunt.
The president though, is accountable for his actions. Boxer and H Clinton are not afraid of the President. Though they do know that to do battle with the man who has the full weight of US government behind him, (including the military) they know they best have their ducks lines up. And even if the power of the position means nothing, remember how OJ's glove didn't fit? He was aquitted, though most of us believe he did it! And he will never be tried for those nurders again!
Give it time. Bushco will sink their own ship.

Exactly Sky, Bush and the Repressives in gerneral are their own worst enemies, and they will sink themselves, what we need to do as Dems to ensure that the elections are fair and by that I mean get rid of the damn voting machines, otherwise, Bush could shoot a person in front of the world and get away with it because the Repressives have made him above the law.
