Do you think that the united states will elect (using that term loosely of course) another president like george w. bush? Just a total, power hungry, evil, sociopath? If you watch the republican debates, their entire field is Bush clones, spouting off the same mind boggling insanity and they are one of two viable political parties in this country. One of four things is going to happen in our future:

1. The democrats will win every presidental election starting in 2008, which is undesirable and unrealistic.
2. The republican party is going get a grip on reality and stop with crazy bullshit.
3. The republican party is going to die off and be replaced with a more mainstream party.
4. One of these bush bots is going to become president and we will have four or eight more years of this totalitarian "leadership".

I think that fourth option will happen sooner or later and it makes me wonder, are we totally fucked?

Do you think an abused ex-girlfriend is going to hook up with another asshole? Do you even have to ask?

Maybe not for eight years, but soon.

This is the probably outcome if the Powers that Be and their Corporate partners get their way. The only way it won't happen will be if the people rise up and get behind one of the more sane choices. And soon.

..and what sane choice would that be ? blink.gif

I can see a few but none of them have the financial clout, nor the nod and wink from the money-men and mass media nababs.

When you think that not that long ago there was a choice of Men like JFK, and now, we look at Ron Paul or Hillary and weigh up their suitability...and let's not even go to the small, feral hole where we find a full-grown NY Guil9/11ani...

Is this genetic devolution ? Is something happening to the American political bemoth that has sucked all the life out of it and left pasty, wax and cardboard figurines flopping around in the breeze ?

What the hell is in the water !!!! (..apart from Cheney......cue "Jaws" theme...) eek.gif

Until the core reasons that explain why and how we got to where we are today are addressed and given due attention,
the odds are that the country will continue to revolve from one extreme to the other.

Since the forces of darkness do not have any moral compass, they are quite willing to say just about anything, and do just about anything. The forces of light are so diverse that they cannot unify, and under normal circumstances we don't want them too. Unfortunately, this reality is something the forces of darkness, with their lack of compass, can turn and use as a tool against the forces of light.

Which means that we have to work all that much harder, that there is no quick fix that would be acceptable. It means that sometimes we will lose battles, sometimes very badly too. But it means that unless we choose to succumb to these dark forces, then we have no other rational choice or option but to remain optimistic, and to continue to fight on, even if you think you can't win!

Dance as if no one were watching, Sing as if no one were listening, Live every day as if it were your last.
And when you feel that doing the right thing leaves you open and vulnerable, do it anyway.
