I listen to a lot of stuff but mostly indusrtial, rock, and 80's new wave.

At the moment I'm listening to the brand new "Ultimate Santana" thumbup.gif

seuss
I like anything that has complex instrumentals, preferably with syncopation - next would by any music with lyrical content related to hermeticism - after that, anything groovy or that fits my political views.
Rousseau
"Concrete Blond", and pretty much anything by Johnette Napoliatano are all time favorites. thumbup.gif
Then pretty much everything between Charlie Parker to Joey Beltram, as long as it's done with soul and passion. The "Spice Girls" or Brittney sadly don't make it here. rolleyes.gif

I'm listening a lot at the moment to "What's going on", by Marvin Gaye, and the aching intensity of the music brings home just how much things have gone backwards since the neocons upset the applecart.......
"What's happening, brother" is gut-wrenching in it's poignancy of soldiers returning from war.
Jubal
O'Malley's March, Springsteen, Stan Rogers, Mary Prankster, and Johnny Cash.
Boot
Counting Crows, Springsteen (just bought the new album yesterday, itunes will be the ruin of me), R.E.M., Barenaked Ladies, Cat Stevens, Classical (except Giacomo Puccini).

This list could go on and on, it's usually just safe to say as long as it's not rap, country, or teen pop, I'll like it.

What have you got against rap and country?

Rap is crap, and hip hop is for kids.
Country though is America's oldest, most popular and only original musical art form.
That doesn't mean it's all good, but some country music is most excellent!

Springsteen has a new CD out, it's excellent. thumbup.gif
Mark Knopfler has a new CD out, it's excellent. thumbup.gif
John Fogerty has a new CD out, it's excellent. thumbup.gif

The Eagles will release a new CD of ALL NEW MUSIC on the 30th (I've heard one song and it's excellent. thumbup.gif )
Unfortunately if you want a copy you'll have to talk to Wal-Mart.
Jack
Right now i am into weird, experimental rock as well as hard rock (which up until recently couldn't stand), such as system of a down, some reggae, and a little bit of rap, your Kanye Wests, your 311s, your Talib Kwelis. I am in sort of in a rebuilding phase right now so my album collection is a little on the light side.

When it comes to music you can pretty much name it, and there'll be something in there that I like (except in hip-hop which is ALL crap).
My foavorites include Van Morrison, U2, Tina Turner, The Long Pigs, Mozart, Whitesnake, James Blunt, PinkFloyd, Dido, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Russel Watson, Neil Jenkins and Lynyrd Skynyrd. biggrin.gif

That isn't what MTV has told you to listen to. Doesn't sound like you are conforming like you should. Perhaps a few months in a reeducation center will straighten you out. Soon you will be all about Fallout Boy, McDonald's, rims, and Strydex pads.

Probably the most accurate/depressing thing said here all day.

Nevermind all the depressing stuff. A really good thing happened today... Thanks to Sky I have now discovered Joe Bonamassa!
Chek this out (though I'm sure all of you are probably familiar with what he does)...

POAC
I like the music of my enemies' wails as I crush them. That, and the sound of the lamentation of their women. I like nothing else.

Bonamama may be this worlds greatest guitarist, especially of the rock and roll blues variety.
(Of which there are many, many really awesome virtuoso's)
