I really don't think it's gonna happen myself. I'm sure a part of him would LIKE to be president, but he realizes what a great pulpit he has as things now are. And the right wing is TRULY scared of him, else they wouldn't be launching these bullshit attacks on the idea global warming.[/b] Someone on another forum said they saw him as too "controversial," but I think that could only come from someone who hasn't been paying attention.

I agree.

Right now Gore is about as high up as he can be. He's "pure".
If he gets back into politics, that purity will suffer, and so will his environmental effectiveness.

Right now if Al Gore stood at the gate of some polluting coal fired electric plant, that would make huge news.
As a politician, he'd only be slightly more than a member of the crowd.
Even as President, in many ways his hands would be tied.

The right wing media machine has invested millions into smearing Gore. By him not running, he's effectively taken millions out of their election cycle arsenal.

Odds are Gore will be asked to play a leadership role in Clintons Administration.
Gore as head of the EPA? With the Democrats in control of the house, senate and whitehouse?

Oh baby!
