I noticed that many of the people on this forum don't actually live in the U.S., The fact that most Americans don't care as much as people outside the U.S. is a sad reflection of how put off we seem to be by things that actually have real impact on the world.

The thing I here most often is "the news is to depressing" It's a dangerous attitude that if you ignore the problems of the world that they will just go away.

You arer so right, boot. I'm in the middle of the fundraiser right now and there will be a few days where our only contributions come in from overseas. New Zealand and Norway, in particular.

Perhaps the result of Liberal and intense education systems that actually do care that "no child is left behind" and which means something, and not just "No child left behind while the others go on an oil crusade to make the fat old men richer and fatter" ?

Wide and varied education and a global World view is the most important attribute any Human can possess. My 2 cents.
