Jack
I haven't been here for about ten months, for some reason, and i guess i am a bit behind. What are your predictions for the 2006 election...lets skip that.

How about your personal lives?

I have switched my college major from political science to psychology. My goal now is to become a doctor, not a lawyer. I turned 21. That has been quite a disaster but fun. I broke up with my long time girl friend. I went from a college in the middle of chicago to the middle of no where. I moved back home and now, finally, drive a fuel efficent car (although i will be driving about 70 miles a day, so sorry environment). New job, new friends, i broke my rib at some point, thats about it.

Later.

What?! When did it start revolving again?

Hi Jack. Nice to meet you. wavehello.gif I'm Karen from Liverpool, England.

Since we last spoak (yeah, I know!) I got born, grew up in really rather difficult circumstances, and, eventually, after many long years of learning to come to terms, I got strong. Yay me! biggrin.gif

As a young man you may not realise exactly why your signature is offensive to women, but I have to tell you that it is.
Sweety, on a personal level I've been the subject of mens sexual fantasies all my life, from family members, from the media, in the school yard, in the work place, (on and on the list goes).
I now know that the placement of women in the role of sex object, whiles making her responsible for male sexual responses begins very early in life for both genders.
And seemingly innocent banter (which is the way I think you regard you signature) goes so much deeper than one might imagine because it pervades so many aspects of western society. Our societies are geared towards telling women (girls) how to look and act in order to please, and gain the approval of, men.
As a psychology major I'm sure you can appreciate how a person may be affected by constantly being presented with the same message throughout their formative years.
The sexual objectification of women is a sickness in our respective societies which it is our responsibility to address. Your signature, whilst I'm sure you love it, is representative of that sickness.
Not only that, but it is personally offensive to me (and I dare say other women on this forum).
That is why I'm asking you to change it.
I hope you're not offended by this request, as I'm quite sure you meant no offense yourself in choosing this signature.

Thank you for reading. wink.gif

I find the graphic offensive because it loops endlessly. Fortunately Mozilla has a feature to disable that incredibly annoying behavior. I don't know what I'd do if I used IE. I find it impossible to read text when something on the screen is moving.

Karen, if he won't change it, you can get rid of it forever in Mozilla/Firefox by right-clicking on the pic and choosing "Block images from...".

I've had a great summer so far.
Among other fun things like some very nice long rides on the bike,
this summers major build was this shed measuring 8 x 16 x 7.
(The images don't show that the roof is also half finished)

And this is my Dog!

Thanks Spud!
I use firefox, so this wont be a problem. Nice tip. thumbup.gif (Know what you mean about images moving while your trying to read too. SO distracting!)
Still think he should change it though, out of respect for other forum users.

Nice shed Sky - Big! Gorgeous dog too! wink.gif
