The Unbeatable Democratic Ticket:
Gore-Obama 2008?

Submitted by Julie on Sat, 2007-06-16 23:25.

Remember Al Gore? You know, the former Vice President, and the 2000 Democratic Presidential candidate that won the popular vote? Oh, and there's also that film of his on global warming, "The Inconvenient Truth". Well don't count him out of the 2008 Presidential race yet.

Our guess is that Mr. Gore is waiting in the wings, letting the other candidates fight amongst themselves, preparing to make his move at exactly the right time. And we're not alone in this thinking.

Former President Bill Clinton isn't counting Gore out of the race just yet either. At a recent Air America relaunch, the New York Post reports that political blogger Andy Ostroy asked Clinton "Do you think Gore's going to run?", to which Clinton replied "Someone's got to fizzle. If someone fizzle's, then, yea, he could enter the face. He's got plenty of money, his own money, to do it."

Ostroy then predicted that Barack Obama will be the one to fizzle out, at which time Gore will step up and enter his name in the race. But he won't do it alone, he predicts, Gore would be likely to choose Obama as his running mate - creating the ultimate Democratic party dream team and a nearly unbeatable ticket.

The Gore-Obama ticket possibility is catching on even now, with the launch of several Gore-Obama websites, and a new Facebook group to help mobilize support of a Gore-Obama run for the White House.

I don't think that's gonna happen. Maybe, but I'm sure that Gore has his running mate picked out already, should he decide to run. He's had friends in high places for a while now, and I think that he's probably had a running mate picked out for a few years. By the way, I don't think Obama's gonna fizzle, as much as I'd like him to.

I don't think it will happen, either. But I told you guys a month ago that such a ticket is absolutely unbeatable, short of election fraud on a scale far exceeding 2000 or 2004. No Republican could field an adequate challenge to such a ticket.

This ticket is more unbeatable than my suggested Clark/Kerry ticket would have been in 2004 (which I still contend would have roundly trounced Bush with even the slightest proper management).

I'm not saying it's the best ticket, but it's certainly a massive favorite over any possible Republican ticket unless Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson personally capture Osama bin Laden and parade him through the streets of Washington.
POAC
yup. As unbeatable as unlikely. Nothing would make me more happy.

Well, it would be a ticket id vote for. Or Gore/Kucinich or Obama Kucinich!
