New Rule: Traitors [Bush & Cheney et al] don’t get to question my patriotism

Bill Maher laid into the White House and its mushy rhetoric on his HBO program recently, giving a tour of the scandal overflow with a special focus on the outing of Valerie Plame: 'That's not treason anymore, outing a spy? Did I mention it was one of our spies?'

Video and transcript courtesy of right wing watch dogs and administration kiss-ups.

'New Rule - Traitors don't get to question my patriotism. What could be less patriotic than constantly screwing things up for America? You know, it's literally hard to keep up with the sheer volume of scandals in the Bush administration. Which is why I like to download the latest scandals right onto my IPod. That way, I can catch up on this week's giant f**k up on my drive into work...'

That was on CrooksandLiars the other day and the first time I saw it I gasped at his Hillary comment. And then it hit me. Oval Office... Blue dress... honor... president... Leave it to the former first lady who was cheated on, thus dishonoring her marriage, the presidency and the office it occurred in to tie it all together by becoming the next president. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

The rest of it needs to be discussed more often.

In fact, it is a sad commentary that only comedy programs touch the serious stuff, NO?

Comedy ALWAYS goes where others fear to tread. In many ways, Comedy is the social ice breaker for discussion of the larger issues.
It has always been this way, and it always will be.

The Maher bit is classic and right on the damned money!
I have to give him credit for his commentaries, even if he does think Ann Coulter's got a purty mouth!
