North: I was there with the same guys who briefed John McCain and Joe Lieberman and they told those two guys the same thing. And they walked out of the briefing and said they wanted 20,000 more troops. Now go figure. And I know that's what was said because I lived with those same guys…

What is North up to here? Apparantly he is turning on his own.

Not so much turning on his own rather he's commenting on how his team uses rhetoric to twist facts while hanging his head in shame due to his team being caught, once again, "fudging" the facts!

Very interesting and very revealing that North, who we usually think of as synonymous with right-wing conservatism (he is a Faux News commentator) says this. I guess the BS got to be too much for even him to handle. McCain and Leiberman support the surge for different reasons. Politics surely dictates McCain's decision to surge and the fact that he is running for President. It would be political suicide for him not to support it, although he probably knows it is a wrong decision deep in his heart. As for Leiberman, he is basically a Republican wearing Democrat's clothing. I think he is a "true believer" in the mission in Iraq and has been from the start. His thinking is very close to President Bush's on this. Neither man really cares what the troops on the ground think. But it is very refreshing to see Ollie North, of all people, finally speaking his mind. Who would of thunk it?

When I think of Ollie, I think of someone that should be serving a Life Term in a military brig!
The fact that he's out walking around breathing MY air, Let alone actually be involved with ANY of this shit and even speaking openly and freely about it, is further evidence of the depth of political corruption in America.

Is North still a reservist? Maybe if somebody with a sense of humor wins the 2008 election, we could get him sent to Nicaragua as an adviser to Ortega.
