Civilians: On January 15th, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, members of the Appeal For Redress, a group of active-duty servicemembers, guard, and reservists, will deliver an appeal signed by U.S. servicemembers to Congress on the steps of the Capitol (weather permitting).

The Appeal is worded simply, as follows:
QUOTE
As a patriotic American proud to serve the nation in uniform, I respectfully urge my political leaders in Congress to support the prompt withdrawal of all American military forces and bases from Iraq . Staying in Iraq will not work and is not worth the price. It is time for U.S. troops to come home.

This is a great opportunity for civilians who support a withdrawl of U.S. troops from Iraq to make their voices heard across America, and a great opportunity to let the new Congress know why you voted them into office.

You voted for them, America. Make them earn your tax dollars!

What is baffling to me is that the American public has not reacted to having found out they were duped in the matter of this war.

It is unnerving to think that the streets have not been flooded with protest over this.

If people will allow themselves the unreasonable reaction of acquiesence when they have complete proof of having been lied to over and over again there appears to be no hope whatsoever.

I am at a loss of comprehension over this.

The American public HAS reacted.
Check the Nov 07 election results, and who controls both the Senate and the House, and who the new speaker of the house is, (Number 3 in the line of succession) and who won most governorships?

Clearly the Sheeple have seen the slaughterhouse, and want a new course!

Even so, the fight is far, far from over.
Continue to write those letters demanding change!
