Before we blast him too much, it wouldn't be fair for me to group him in with, say, the Gators and Darkhalos. From what I saw he isn't necessarily that type, but still I just have a natural tendency to be very cautious with them....

Your natural tendency is correct.
I need to be more wary.
In person my guts are usually 100% accurate.
The 'net sometimes hides people's true intentions....can't see their eyes.
I'm an eye contact person.
It's just that I hate visiting that horrible place to check on them.
I also abhor reading freeperville's crap but force myself to.
They are so filled with hatred and ignorance.
I truly appreciate the heads up and thank you.

I don't quite understand. I started out at MWO and DU and this isn't like either of those forums.
CU isn't DU.
More DUers would like it here a lot. At DU one of the pre-requisites seems to be that any post you make has to have at least one insulting response. It's a zoo over there but I still enjoy reading the editorials and the front page.
I like DU but I like it here better.

Another pre-req at DU seemed to be a complete and blind faith to the party line, as they interpreted it, with no wiggle room.
I never, ever was disruptive in my short time there. I simply held a slightly different viewpoint on right to life.

I know exactly what you mean. You won't find that attitude here.

Different points of view are welcome at this forum and so are you.
Here, you actually get to say what you want.

And I sure hope you've had a look at POAC'S front page.
It's excellent.
Again, welcome to freedom of speech and thankfully to a sense of humor.
We like to have fun as well as discuss the serious and scary things that are happening. No real pre-requisites other than being civil to others.
There are TOS as in every forum but POAC is incredibly reasonable.
This isn't Skinner territory. You get to have opinions.
If you have any problems, questions, comments etc. feel free to PM any of us any time.

If from the DU or even the Free Republic, that's fine if they're here to enjoy it and engage in dialogue. For most (perhaps not all) CUers however, their sole mission is to come to left-wing boards, flame us, curse us out and then report back to CU and brag about it. That's why I like to sniff them out when I find them.
And as for DU, I'm still trying to figure out why they banned my last account over there (Squall, banned last night after 15 posts and few reactions).

Sil, I don't think the conversation of viewpoints on right to life has ever been discussed... at least that I can think of. That topic is not off limits... if there is relevent news... we discuss it. You won't be banned because of a differing view point, that is not what we are about. We have "liberal" viewpoints here.. that doesn't mean we all support abortion... nor does that mean there aren't religous people... so jump on in... enjoy the community and discuss the topics that are near and dear to your heart!
As Panda pointed out.. we are about free speech, discussion. We don't tolerate trolling, board wars, or flooding... but beyond that do pretty well, and are getting better everyday!

I didn't join the forum just to be surrounded by people who think like I do. I want to be informed, and to do that I will have to see the view points and discuss them with the loyal opposition!
The vast majority of your average conservative are good folks who happen to have political views I tend to consider quite narrow minded, uneducated, and frankly, unintelligent. But, if we don;t discuss politics I find I rather like most of these people.
I said Most, not all! I do not enjoy flamers and trolls who's only goal is to cause havoc. Might refer to these people as your conservative anarchist.
Any, good, open, honest, non-violent debate is good for all of us!

You have to realize what kind of a community you are joining when you enter here. This is a progressive organization with a forum full of progressive people. if you don't think this is somewhere where you will find like minded people, you are here for one of two reasons:
1) To disagree with people
2) To compare notes with people who have a different perspective than you do.
If you are here to disagree with people, expect to be taken to task on everything you post here. If you are disproven repeatedly, your best option would be to leave rather than do descend into common disruption. That's what usually happens. As long as you know what you are getting into when you sign up and you can handle yourself respectfully, there's no problem.
As I said before, you will not be banned or run off for having a differing opinion. Coming in here with the intent of arguing and unpopular perspective to the point of disruption will result in corrective action. But everyone is welcome. just remember where you are.

Just don't cast dispersions where they don't belong.
BTW, you guy probably have a lot in common with Moo. His main difference with you will be at what level of government social programs should be enacted. He pretty much agrees with most of the programs themselves.
