"Charlie has obviously done an exceptional job, a really extraordinary job," said Marine Col. Dwight Sullivan, the Pentagon's chief defense counsel for Military Commissions.
Sullivan added it was "quite a coincidence" that Swift was passed over for a promotion "within two weeks of the Supreme Court opinion."
That was Col. Sullivan's way of saying he disagrees with the Navy for passing over Swift. There are fairly sharp limits on what a serving officer is allowed to say to the press.
Losing what? The war in Iraq? While I agree with everything you said in your post, that's not why we're losing the war in Iraq. If you meant something else, I'm sorry.
Losing Everything. Losing Iraq. Losing Afghanistan. Losing our allies. Losing our moral superiority. Losing our integrity. Losing our economic standing due to a huge balooning fiscal deficit and reliance on other nations for our economic security. The list could go on and on.
What I am saying, Jubal, is that a whole lot of "little wrongs", such as this, add up. They effect everything the U.S. does and tries to do. You cannot compartmentalize it. And they are still going strong doing the same things they have done. Accountability is not even on the radar. Do this enough times, and you bring down an empire. We, the American people, are letting it happen. Today. Right in front of our eyes. Does that not upset you?
