The board was created for the reasons stated.
Though as you might have discovered, their are many different forum general topics, which means just about anything can be posted, as long as it fits within the guidelines (see above, upper left, "Forum Guidelines")

Other than that, if you decide to stay or not is completely your decision to make.
However, if you do and you participate, it will be almost impossible to not join in discussion with us "anti-corruption progressives and liberals?"

Finest kind. I was referring to the part about it being "a forum for like-minded people." The question boiled down to "If one isn't an anti-corruption progressive and liberal, is one unwelcome?"


The issues affecting the country and the world. I might learn something.

"like minded" is a generality that in one form refers to what we lovingly call, Right Wing Trolls, or those ultra conservatives who do not wish discussion, and only participate in the effort to cause disruption and deliberately put forward disinformation.


"like minded" doesn't mean we all agree on everything. That's not very much fun and it's extremely unlikely. Plus that wouldn't leave us much to "discuss".


What POAC is trying to say is that though we tend to be liberal, we are not all liberal. That being a liberal is not a requirement of this board. In fact, conservatives who actually do want to reasonably discuss issues are quite welcome, as long as they can handle the heat of being very out numbered.

I'm not liberal and I'm probably not progressive.

Can you respectfully converse with people who are?

Actually, the mere fact that you use "liberal" as an adjective probably means you'll fit in fine here.

Most of us here are liberal, in various degrees and forms.
And most of us don't so much mind a different view, as long as that different view is as open minded as they would ask of others. After all, we're here to share information and to educate ourselves and others.

We can't very well do that if there are some sort of Liberal Talking Points that don't allow waundering off the path.

Sorry, no. I can civilly converse with people who are just about anything. Respect takes longer and is individual.

If you are civil, then you are affording basic human respect.
That much strangers give to each other just being courtious.

It's been a real interesting few weeks. I learned a lot. Today I learned too much.

Even Progressives don't agree on everything (for example, I'm pro-life) ... however, we seem to have a unaminous view against pre-emptive wars based on lies . What is your topic of disagreement with the other 800 on this forum? The only thing I ask is that you back up your arguments with links of sources .
