I found this interesting take on rove's recent attempts to win this election for the republicans. It makes a lot of sense to me.


I think the era of Karl Rove is coming to a close and Republicans need to accept it. They recently tried to rally voters with gay marriage bans and flag burning bans, the voters didn't buy it. They are trying to deny responsibility and blame Democrats for Iraq, voters aren't buying it. They are trying to deny responsibility and blame Democrats for Foley, voters aren't buying it. Gas prices fall much further than oil has, and voters don't celebrate, they think it is a ploy.

You can only fuck with the people just so much. Eventually they catch on to your scheme.
Every snake oil salesman knows this and keeps the wagon packed for a quick get away.

Yeah, i think it is a combination of people not buying it any more and rove running out of ideas. The former yielding the latter.

I think President Cheney will go before Rove.

If Cheney becomes President, Speaker of the House Pelosi becomes the VEEP.
And if Cheney gets it too? Some very interesting shit is distinctly possible right now.
(and don't for a moment think Pelosi isn't 100% aware)

Rove screwed up when his base found out that he was making fun of them all along... it was bound to happen. Bullies never prosper!
