Honestly? My take? Do NOT sweat anything Karl "the Whore" Rove ever says anymore!
He has nothing. He never had anything, except fear to hype and lies.

October surprise? 80% of it was simply stating that he has one. SCARE SCARE. OOOooo October surprise, be afraid!

Anything else he "lets lose" will be laughable.

The Rove's October surprise may read like this... Bush agrees to withdrawal troops from Irag, beginning January 2007.

As sweet as that would be, I don't think even he is that smart , or desperate. That move would really drive home to the soldiers that they are nothing but political pawns to be used only at the whims of the uber-elite for monetary gain.

I'm about half way through "The Architect" now. I'll never underestimate Rove again. It's somewhat of an eyeopener, but a lot of just detailing what we already know, but it will get one's blood pressure up just following his tactics. I'd hate to think what the Democrats need is their own version of Rove, but I do think the debates need to be about liberal policies, not refuting Rove's dirty tricks or Republican talking points. Most important in the book so far is the way he uses the final 72 hours to his advantage, in getting the "base" all fired up, so it may be more than just an October surprise, it may have an encore.

All must not forget, Karl Rove is one smart bastard in reversing the wheel when going in the opposite direction. He is noted...very smoothie in the manner.. to take a positive and turn it into a double negative, and when all is talking the negative aspects, he turns it back into a double positive. Making it so glorious and wonderful, no one expects what has happened.

Right, and then come January, for reasons beyond the administrations control, it doesn't happen!

Surprise!

Yeah, i often find rove's so called brilliance kind of questionable. I honestly don't believe he is as unstoppable as many people think. If you look back a lot his political moves have failed. Every attempt since 2004 to get people behind the war again has failed. His PR for Katrina did nothing. The gay marriage amendment in 2006 didn't work, neither did the flag burning. Also, he is the one who set up the Mission Accomplished stunt. I also think he credited with things that he never actually did. They had a segment on Countdown I think, which told about the things that many people think he was behind but he actually wasn’t. A lot of the so called great things that he pulled were never actually that great. Exploiting a terrorist attack is something that anyone in power could do or making up things about a political candidate.

His October surprise will be some sort of terrorist thing, something with Iraq, something with Iran, or some kind of wedge issue that we have seen before.

I really don't fear Karl Rove.
