BushCo's Fake "War on Terror" is a LIE Concocted by LIARS
FrostedFlake - 09/05/2006
Brad Garrett: An FBI Agent's Exit Interview Audio
Debbie Elliot of NPR recently interviewed Brad Garrett, formerly of the FBI. Everyone should listen very carefully to what he had to say, and take action. One of the topics raised is the first attack on the World Trade Center. Another is the enforcement of U.S. law on foreign soil. A third is cooperation between the FBI and the CIA. Many interesting things are said. Several of them are astonishing. One must suppose Mr. Garrett is aware of this, but he doesn't let on.
I have a couple astonishing things to say as well. There are just two things wrong with the war on terror. The first is, should we ever get our Army out of Iraq the very next thing said will be, "Now, lets get on with the War on Terror". The second is, The War on Terror is fake.
Taking a bomb onto an aircraft is suicide. Stopping people who have bombs and intend suicide is the reason for security checkpoints. They work great. We can't even get a can of pop onto an airplane. But there is nothing to stop any one bringing a soda to the checkpoint. Or bringing a bomb.
Fifty dead. A hundred wounded. Then there is his partner at the other end of the line, and the guy at the main entrance. Airport shutdown. People stop flying. Industry curls up and dies. America grounded, traffic jams coast to coast because of lines for five dollar gas. Most importantly, people stop just doing what security tells them, instead begin to intentionally avoid security, this becomes a trend which morphs into a movement. Security becomes moot, because it is just too dangerous to get near, And terror and terror ism runs wild. Gun battles erupt in shopping malls for reasons that never come to light (someone dropped a can of beans) are attributed to terror and so terrorize. Tight spiral through post modern fuedalism, into urban tribalism. There are signs in the heavens, earthquakes, drought, a tornado, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria !!
Whassat? Hasn't happened? I know. That's my point. Couldn't be easier, Couldn't be worse, Hasn't happened. How do you account for it? With enemies like that, who needs friends? The President has the answer, and has been giving it to us often, for a long time. We are fighting over there, so we don't have to fight them over here. See, covers it neatly. Except for one thing. Fighting them over there does not stop them from coming over here.
Consider. You are a terrorist. You say to yourself, "I would go to New York and blow up Grand Central Station, but the Army is in Iraq, so I have to go there instead." Okay, now why did you say that? Are terrorists in the business of fighting armies? Or are they in the business of terrifying people generally by killing some of them in a way that makes the rest wet themselves?
Take your time. Think it over. Which business are terrorists in? Do they hit hard targets like armies or soft ones like security desks surrounded by innocent people?
So it follows that those who fight our army in Iraq are not terrorists BECAUSE they are fighting an army, and terrorists do not. And it follows that our fighting over there does not draw those who would terrorize us BECAUSE fighting the Army over there does not terrorize. Us. And it follows that the security desk at the airport is the natural point of attack for a terrorist BECAUSE there are no security precautions and there are lots and lots of people. And it is plain the President's frequent assertion is fantastic.
There is only one way to explain this complete lack of getting killed, with impunity, frequently. The enemy is AWOL. Keeping that from the light of day is what all the secrecy is for. All the secrecy that would not exist if not for the AUMF in re: 9/11. Secrecy needed to enable the supposition that Al Kaida ("the Database") is capable of assembling liquid explosives on a plane using lab equipment smuggled past security but is not capable of just bringing a stick of dynamite to the desk. Upon consideration, it is plain, but, untill you think about it, you haven't. It is easy to fail to notice things which haven't happened but should have, and as easy, things which happen sight unseen. Secrecy means no questions and no answers.
As Mr. Garrett makes plain in his interview, international law enforcemant was the norm pre 9/11. The AUMF turned part of that over to the President to accomplish with the Army. Without warrents. In consequence, folks get taken to Guantanamo, if they are lucky, and we never see any proof. If they are unlucky then we never see them. How do we know any of them are terrorists? We don't. And so far from taking the word of those who have confessed, wouldn't you, eventually, confess, to stop the torture? Why do we use torture, if not because it can make anyone admit to anything, guilty or not? What is a confession extracted by torture other than an indictment of the man who extracted it? But for secrecy, he would be jailed, and thereafter, no more torture.
Uncomfortable? Well then, I'll get to the punchline. The AUMF might have been fine, had not W = Waco. Even so, if the AUMF authorized the use of military force, on foriegn soil, to assist law enforcement to enforce a warrent issued jointly by FISA and the Court of local jurisdiction provided the warrent so stipulated, things would be very differant today. And could be tomorrow. People would be taken to Court. In the daytime. Evidence would be presented. To us. And we would know what's up. We would have to. Our role in government, as jurors, is to determine who is guilty and who is not. This is what puts us in a supervisory position. As things are, we have to wait years and watch very carefully just to figure out that we are not under attack.
And then we must explain things to the meek very, very gently, just like Mr. Rogers used to, else they go catatonic and cling desperately to their safe little world where everyone George Bush points at is a terrorist. And this week he points at me. Calls me a sympathizer. Giving aid or comfort is the definition of treason and he calls me sympathizer to an enemy he made, a sock puppet he shook at the world and said (ahem) Boooga-Boooga-Boooga !!!! Understandably, this impressed many, but I am growing impatient with the meek. There is an election coming up, and I want to change the AUMF.
Enough bungling in the dark, don't make me wait two more years just to turn the lights on.

Frosted,
PNAC ~ "Rebuilding America's Defenses" Sept. 2000. The Blueprint to Global Hegemony through a military doctrine. This idea was set to become the platform of gaining the world wide recognition that America was to make, for itself, as the sole superpower. This blueprint, as laid out, would take some time for it's fruition, unforeseen a catalyzing even, like a new Pear Harbor.
9/11, closing remarks in his diary, Bush notes, "A new Pearl Harbor happened today."
Do you believe in coincidences?
Is it a coincidence that the rise of Middle East terrorism bent on hitting Western targets happens to show it's head AFTER the cold war? Is it a coincidence that this rise of terrorism, from the "now" al-Qaeda, happens shortly after our funding of the Afghan warlords suddenly dried up?
But I digress.
Your wisdom is spot on. Why must we give up our lip balm, roll on antiperspirant, and mouth wash, etc. just so the cargo can go on unscreened below us while we are forced to tough "IT" out? The smell of it all.
And you're right, Amtrak still is vulnerable.
What's that? Did you say Grey Hound?
They say we can pick up our tickets at the counter. Express luggage check in. All we have to do is pre pay in advance. Credit cards require no ID over the phone, you know.
You said, "Secrecy means no questions and no answers." You forgot the most obvious of secrecy.
No accountability.
"Safe little world where everyone George Bush points at is a terrorist. And this week he points at me." I hold up a mirror and ask, "Is it sympathy that you seek, Mr. President? Is it my cooperation and silence that your diatribes are geared toward? That if I criticize you, the DECIDER, then I am wrong? But oh, Mr. President, then how is it I may appease you?"
A bit over the top, you say? Yes, I do think that his attack on American's ability to have and hold an opinion is over the top and an unacceptable, desperate attempt to maintain his dictatorial position as the "DECIDER."
But since Bush, Rumsfeld et. al. are keen on the remembrances of the past and magically linking them to us, today, then I too can do the same. I have hesitated to say this here but have felt this way for over a year and Bush's latest rant on American's only underscores my point to follow.
Late 1930's through the mid 1940's
Hitler and his National Socialist (NAZI) Party waged war with Europe and it was the Jews he targeted, to cleanse and liberate Europe from.
2000(see above) Bush and the NeoConservatives planned a war in the Middle East, and it is the "Islamo-fascists" that he targets to cleans and liberate. The 'other' Muslims that die in the process are what, collateral?
But they like it like this.
TERRORIST = Muslim.
In a twisted psychodrama, the Bush Cabal would have you to believe that the only terrorist to fear is an Islamic terrorist. And a good Islamic terrorist is a dead one, or one that is put away for life somewhere dark and secret.
Bush calls them Islamo-fascists. But "fascism" requires a governmental ideology, not a religious belief. If Bush was correct in theory, then Hitler was a Christo-fascist. And Bush's America and his Christian Conservative Coalition that brought us the contract with America, you know that marriage of faith and State. What does his logic make America?
The reason "redeploy" is said to be, as the GOP call it, a "cut and run" plan of failure, is because when and IF America pulls out, what then of the KBR contracts? What of the Halliburton contracts?
And isn't it the contractor that takes the hit and financial loss IF and when their no bid "new construction" sites, aka bases and embassy, stop construction? And who's stocks just might loose dividends?
I'd advise all to understand TIA and DARPA. The days of "Papers please" are soon upon us. Without the threat of terrorism looming among us, there would be no reason to enlist the global populace and tag us all with an ID number. Your passports already now have ID chips in them so that you can be tracked where ever you go. Feel safer now? They're considering fingerprinting airliner passengers. Feel safer now? New residents to America require a fingerprinting. Feel safer yet? They even push a Child Identification Program.(Ch*I*P) Fingerprint the kids, early indoctrination. Feel safer yet?
What did it used to mean when the authorities took your finger print?
What and how does that compare to todays standard of rationality?
How does the taking of my fingerprint keep me safer? I do not like being treated like a criminal, presumed guilty of some unforeseen crime I have not committed.
They tell me it isn't about me but rather about tracking the EVIL-doers. Then this presupposes that they know WHO the EVIL-doers are to begin with, as just a fingerprint alone can not detect WHO is the EVIL-doer, least I be deemed one too by some authority, because I too have a fingerprint. They say so that once established WHO is the EVIL-doer, their tracks can be traced, faster. A finger print on a wall requires the same level of detection with or without foreknowledge of the print. The exception being is that IF they have everyone's print, and I mean everyone in the world, then they can say OBL was here, for sure. But do they have his print, for sure? Did he willingly register? So why do we have to register?
As you have pointed out, and several others too, as I attest to in what I've written here, there are connections that don't compute to rational logic. Their plan is riddled with holes and affronts to commissioner's recommendations. Their fight, The Long War, formally The War On Terror(TWOT) is a distraction so that the leaders of this world can carry on writing a history that Orwell once fantasized about.
