If we are safe, but not free, then the ideals of our Constitution and all that has made us a beacon of hope for all oppressed peoples in the world has become a farce.

And right now, our Government fights and walls off immigrants. Even their Republican pundits wish to form a moratorium on immigration. Maybe their doin’ their good ‘ole song and dance; The Freudian slippage.

That's a good point, Max. I may have to go back in there and mention that immigrants are always a popular enemy of fascist regimes, as well.

Thank you TJ!

I'm pleased to see you found a means to publish some fact based opinion concerning current realities.
Gadzooks!
Republicans? That's fraudian slippage.

Liberal Huffington Post blogger RJ Eskow, challenged by some commentators to come up with a better term, suggests "Islamic conservatism."

Why not call the radical Islamist movement "conservative" – in the new meaning of the word? After all, they believe in the following:

1. Opponents are to be killed. No negotiation is permissible.
2. It's acceptable to plunder the resources of a country in pursuit of the Cause.
3. Slandering your opponent is preferable to competing in the marketplace of ideas.
4. War is always the first option, not the last.
5. "We" can't be questioned because we're doing God's will.
6. "We" know it's God's will, because we're doing it.
7. The sacred texts must be selectively read, removing all references to peace, justice, or tolerance.
8. Enemies can be anyone – even people from the same community – who disagree with you.
9. The electoral process is a waste of time. God has already spoken.
10. Only the fundamentalists have "true religion."
11. "We" can do or say anything we want to our enemies ...
12. ... but we treat our friends very, very well.

Just remember that just over the fence from these people sits the Zionist Evangelicals.
(this really needs more airplay before November)

This could describe us as well as them.

In all fairness, that list isn't indicative of real conservatism. Neoconservatism, maybe, but not real conservatism. Islamic theocrats would be most appropriate, in my opinion.
MasterMind
I agree with TJ, we have Anti-CHristian Evangelicals on one side and Anti-Islamic Fundamentals on the others, both wanting an armageddon and both wishing nothing more then a theocratic nation.

Err what? Not so fast, did I forget the massive amounts of greed behind the men just using their peoples faiths to fight a true war of power of resources and economics? I like that better.

Well I agree with that, it is a broad generalization, but then again, so is Islamist. If the guys in charge now are going to make the statement, then why not paint them with the same broad stroke and let them defend themselves. Let the conservatives running for office explain why they and their party are not facists. As far as I'm concerned the original label was a ploy that could backfire on them big time if the left will pick up the ball, run with it, and point the fingers in the "right" direction. Are all conservatives facists? No. And I don't drink late's (hell I don't even know how to spell it), never been inside a Volvo, never ate sushi. Oberman didn't go far enough, and until more media types start pointing out that the emporer has no clothes, they'll probly keep trying to push the fear card. I say call the kettle black.

It could be said, that this Administration's tyrannical abuse of their critics, opposition, and dissenters is being fomented to appease this Administration itself. For if they can silence the critic, cancel out their opposition, and discredit the dissenter, then what voice will be heard over all others but that of the Administration’s and their minions.

Will the Administration then be appeased? Will the Administration then stop ridiculing, chastising and demonetizing the American people for having a difference of opinion then that OF the Leader’s?

What this Administration asks from Americans, is to become silent in opinion, invisible, and cooperative to the Administration's activities and war. To appease them as was done to the German’s and the rise of Hitler, the Communist's and the rise of the Cold War. To appease the BushCo. They ask for patriotic treason from the American people.
