I am new to POAC though I agree with all that I have read so far on your website, so a little info about myself. I am a 50-year-old free thinker who is a federal employee and veteran of 20 years of honorable service in the US Navy. Now don’t judge me too soon for during my 20 years of service and five years of federal service I have always held my beliefs to the truth, protection of the Constitution, and the ideal that the United States is a free Democratic Republic. You will note I capitalized “Democratic Republic” for that is what Jefferson, Madison, Washington, Franklin, and all the members of the Constitutional Congress back in the 1780s were trying and successfully endeavored to create or mold this country into being. It is safe to say from my standpoint that if they were alive today they would be appalled at what our country has come to today. Sadly though the checks and balances that the Constitution so clearly spells out for Congress, the Executive Branch, and Judicial Branch of government have been compromised by the present administration, Republican National Committee, and neo-conservatives at a level that would have brought tears of joy to the eyes of Joseph McCarthy from the 1950s. I am convinced more than ever that we now live in a fascist state that is almost equal to Nazi Germany during the 1930s and 1940s. In fact, our leaders now are using the tactics of control that the Nazis used in Germany. Trying to convince us that we are under immanent attack at any moment (terrorism), dividing the population on fear such as (gay marriage, abortion, gay adoption, religion, and even race). The more divided and distracted we are as a population the less we notice the abuses of power and the limitation of personal freedoms we are subjugated to on a whole. Keep in mind that during the Nuremburg Trails after World War II Hermann Goering when asked how the Nazis were able to convince and control the German population into following their cause he stated, “By convincing the people that they were under the constant threat of invasion by foreign nations and radical groups slash ethnic groups.” Sound familiar yet like maybe Islam, illegal immigrants, gays, liberals, academics, media, etc. In fact, Ann Coulter compares liberals to Godless people. I do not know about anyone else here but I still believe in God and I am still liberal. May haps the conservatives have a problem with God for they are the ones who preach hate and fear as well as the removal of the human rights of the general population of this nation as well as the rest of the nations and people of this planet?

In fact speaking of Ann and here buddy’s Rush, Sean Hannity, and all of the other neo-cons, and yes I am referring to David Wolfowitz, Donald(Cheshire Cat) Rumsfield, Dick( I shoot friends) Chenney, Karl (I’ll smear you on Fox News) Rove, and of course George( I can’t speak English) Bush. I wonder in fact, what service to the nation people like Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Pat Robinson, and Jerry Falwell have done in the service of their country? I mean did they serve this country’s military. Did they serve in the civil service of this country? If they have then please correct me. If they have not then they need to sit down and shut up. As I said before I am retired after 20 years of active and honorable service to my country in the military and I am now a civil servant to the federal government. So overall, I have now served my country 25 years of dedicated and honorable service. I also do not think anyone from the President of this country on down DOES NOT have the GOD give right to change, circumvent, or ignore the Constitution of this nation. Nor does RELIGION have more status or leeway over the Constitution. Our forefathers were all very devoted Christians and believers in God, but they also knew that religion had no place in government and government had no place in religion. Hence the separation of church and state which is clearly spelled out in the Constitution. For men like Madison and Jefferson knew that if government and religion are combined then all that will come of this mixture is persecution and repression. If anyone disagrees, refer to the Spanish Inquisition.

Now of course we are not yet to the level of death camps that the Nazis used in Germany nor the torture and death of the Inquisition, but there is Guantanamo Bay to consider. Is it the prototype for the next Auschwitz, Buchenwald, Treblinka, etc? One has to wonder with all of the homophobia, fear of immigrants from Latin America, and I am sure soon racial differences, as to what the future holds. The conservatives tell the general population to fear anyone whom is different from themselves. They tell them that anyone who is a fear thinker is someone to fear. They tell us that Muslims are a group of people to fear. Yet why do they not tell us to understand all whom are different. I know persecution all too well even now. With all that, I have done for this country in the past and in the present, I live and endure with persecution. My sin to the conservatives is that I am a male to female transsexual. So many people, based on religious and culture stigmas, as a major problem for a “safe and normal” society, view me. Yet while I was on active duty I repressed my feeling not just out of fear which was 90% of my repression, but because if I wanted to succeed in this country I would have to sacrifice my inner feeling and self for the comfort level of others. After I retired from the military, I then started my transition to a woman. Yet if a person listens to the people, I have mentioned previously I am a threat to humanity and the state. At no time did I ever compromise this country’s integrity or security over my battle that I was fighting of being a transsexual. So the myth of the Department of Defense is just that a myth. I know many veterans who served this nation how were Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, or Transgender and at no time did any of these people as well as me compromise national security. So much for “don’t ask don’t tell”.

Therefore, these are my thoughts for what they are worth. I love this nation with all of my heart and soul. I do not believe that religion has any role in the governess of this nation other wise it would have been included in the Constitution and we would have been a Christian state when this country was conceived. The neo-cons and the rich in this country have gone too far and it is time for the people of this country to take our country back. I believe it was either Jefferson or Madison who said, “there will be times in the history of this nation that due to tyranny another revolution will need to be conducted due to the oppression of the people." “In fact it is the duty of every American to ensure that tyrannical leaders are deposed of their power and office.” I may have made a mistake on the person who made the quote and paraphrased the quote wrong as well, but the bottom line is we all have a vote and this is still our most effective tool to depose the corruption in Washington. At least let us never give up hope for the greatest experiment in government the world has ever seen.
